MONTH-END FUNCTION

Traditionally , a "month-end" function is held after the last Wednesday Time Trial of each month.

At races, be on the lookout for the Club Umbrella(s) or gazebo and feel free to join fellow members there.

COMRADES RELATED FUNCTIONS

An important annual social which should not be missed is the "pre-comrades run." This occasion is not just for Comrades entrants, but for all ACR athletes and their families and friends. Should you wish to invite non-ACR members, please contact the Social Committee member to ensure that they are catered for.

This "Pre-Comrades Run" normally takes place on the last (or second last) Saturday before Comrades, followed by the Comrades Church service the following day.

The Club also sponsors facilities at the finish point of Comrades for ACR athletes and their families.

ANNUAL FUNCTION

Alpha Centurion kicks off every year with a prestigious awards function. At this gala evening, ACR athletes received recognition for their achievements during the previous year through numerous trophies and awards. (See the Annual Awards section of the Achievements web page for details of the various awards. )

Even if you do not personally win one of these awards, the function is for ALL ACR club members and their families and you are urged to attend the next one, even if it is just to applaud the achievements of your fellow members and to see what trophies and awards are available for what achievements that you could possibly strive to win at the beginning of next year (or even just the "wind-surfing" afterwards.) You do NOT need to be an elite athlete to win some of the awards.

The club sponsors a huge amount of the cost of this function to encourage attendance, so you can enjoy a gala evening for a song.
