The Wally Hayward Marathon over 42,2 Km, 21,1 Km and 10 Km is held annually on 1 May (Workers' Day.) There is also a 5 Km fun run.

The Wally, (as it is affectionately known as by runners all over South Africa) is historically the third largest road race in South Africa (after Comrades and Two Oceans) and consistently features in the top 10 most popular road races in South Africa.

Since ACR is a relatively small club to present such a major event, we need EVERY club member's participation on the day of the race, so NO ACR MEMBERS ARE ALLOWED TO RUN THE WALLY. We have special Wallys for ACR club members over the same routes either just before or just after the Wally every year. PLEASE DIARISE 1 MAY 2006 NOW. We really need your help on the day.
